In another setback to this so-called Administration’s attempts to roll back civil rights to the “good old days” — think somewhere between Jim Crow and Prohibition — a California federal judge has ordered a nationwide halt to Executive Order 13950.
President Trump issued EO 13950 on September 22, 2020. Its stated intent was “to promote unity in the Federal workforce, and to combat offensive and anti-American race and sex stereotyping and scapegoating.” Of course, this was horse-hockey doublespeak. The real intent was to stop white people from being confronted with white supremacy, white privilege, and systemic racism that is practically in the marrow of our nation’s bones.
EO 13950 prohibited training on “divisive topics” — which is how fragile white people respond when they are confronted with their white privilege, white supremacy, and systemic racism. Those who want to discuss and learn about these issues are told (in a condescending voice), “Stop! You’re being divisive!” The practical impact of 13950, had it truly gone into effect, would be to strip federal funding from any federal agencies, federal contractors and recipients of federal grants—meaning, a LOT of different public and private employers and their employees—unless they scoured their workplace trainings from any hint of the “divisive topics.”
Most of its provisions officially took effect November 21, 2020. However, because Trump took a historically bad loss for an incumbent president, the rush to comply with 13950 has, let’s say, been alleviated. But unless Biden were to take office and promptly rescind this Executive Order, it would remain in effect for the time being, and it’s not implausible that the outgoing fascist regime would try some shenanigans to penalize a community college district or university system for not bowing to the Cheetoh-head with sufficient self abasement.
So then today this happened:

There is now a nationwide injunction preventing the Administration from enforcing EO 13950. It is a win for diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, and a big FUCK-YOU to the racist authoritarians. Don’t let the door hit you on your way out, fellas!
